This morning had an almost surreal moment to it: my niece wrote to me on Facebook to tell me that my half-sister had passed away Saturday morning after a long battle with cancer.
Writing this, I realize that the last time I saw Ewa was her wedding in the archipelago outside Karlskrona 2002. An event that in itself was a very surreal event; a mix of Little Britain, Lars Norén, and Jonas Gardell.
I know that this was the way she had to be able to get in touch with me, and I do appreciate her for doing it in this hard time. Yet, I will no longer just look forward to opening my inbox on Facebook. It's lost its innocence.
R.I.P. Ewa!
