Obama wins the Democratic Primaries

Obama AND Clinton
Originally uploaded by SwedeInSF

There seems to have been an end to the long primary election for the democratic presidential nominee. After today's votes, Senator Obama has got the required number of delegates and superdelegates to become the winner.

Now everyone awaits Senator Rodham Clinton's decision. Till now she has not conceded [NYT][SF Chronicle]. Some hope/think/fear that she will become the vice-presidential candidate. It would be an interesting Democratic ballot.

In San Francisco and other parts of the Bay Area there has been referendums, re-elections. One of the more striking news is that gay Assemblyman Mark Leno [home page][wiki] defeated lesbian Senator Carole Migden [home page][wiki].
