Obama AND Clinton

Obama AND Clinton

The year 2008 has started and so has a new quarter at the university. My strongest memory from New Year's Eve was the man in the Castro that shouted "Happy new year when we'll get a new President!"... And the presidential run is really ongoing with the primary elections.

Personally, I have a weak spot for Senator Rodham Clinton - but I can neither vote nor support her financially as a foreigner. If she gets the nomination, I will however try to be helping out putting stamps on letters or something. :) it would be amazing to see and be part of the historical moment of potentially getting a female president in this country. The question of sex (less about gender) is very evident in the debate and the campaign - for the democrats it is a question of a Black man or a woman; who is the most electable? In SF

On the republican side they struggle with who is the most electable based on age, Mormonism, divorced Catholic.

In this City, Obama is the one you hear about, and that seem to attract a lot of voters - especially among the younger people. I am not so sure about him...

Well, Feb 5 is "Super Tuesday" when several US states vote in the primaries.
