A New Bug in the Castro

MRSA

In several news reports today [BBC][The SF Chronicle][NYT], the detection of a "new" bug among MSM is causing alarm. The scientific article can be found on the homepage of Annals of Internal Medicine. It is a strain of the Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) [CDC] called USA300. Based on the places of the body where the MRSA was found, it was concluded that the bacteria may be sexually transmitted.
